October Walk

chill wind bites
through hoody sleeves
footsteps crunch
on fallen leaves
everyone mourns
summer’s gone, grieves
autumn calls to me

Decades past
of autumn days I dream
moonlight on frost
shimmers in the chill gleam
wildlife scurries
winter readying it seems
autumn calls to me

Into the silence
golden and auburn I walk
alone, just me
no need in silence to talk
immersion into beauty
is all I really stalk
autumn calls to me
