An Aside

I never thought I would enjoy the challenge of writing to a list of prompts. I’ve done the April poem a day for a month challenge a few times, and succeeded, but those were poems that I crafted from nothing (usually… sometimes I used the prompt as a spring board… sometimes I used the kind of poem suggested one day for an interesting twist, but it’s been almost a week now and I’m actually finding it fun.

It stretches my mind in interesting ways.  It breaks me out of my ruts (somewhat) and it shines light into some of the dusty, cobwebby corners.  I’m determined to make it.

I highly recommend going out, hunting up a list like this one or finding your own (there are books… there are websites… you know the drill) and forcing yourself into a different mindset.
