just a little hope
not a blaze but a sparkle
shining in darkness

when everything’s gray
a sparkle becomes brilliant
chasing away gloom

eyes accustom to
a thousand shades of gray
light chases shadows

in the chasing brings
peace and light to corners grim
smiles in winter’s eve
