Walk With Me

Walk with me
Sit by my side
Listen, laugh, talk with me
For a moment
Through my eyes
Though our steps
May not match
We may not always
Match our pace
Know that I know
That I understand
Even in silence
Where no words can express
Our walks merely differ
In the days tiny details
You hunger
For food
For laughter
For a moment’s recognition
I feel your longing
They know your love
Familial and friends
She feels your loneliness
Walk with me
Know that despite
Any perceived differences
That may cross the surface
Beneath the shade
Of the easing evenings shadows
We are one
We are the same
And perceptions
Are illusions
And illusions but allusions
Sit with me
And we can be friends
